AddJobs The site is aimed a providing a simplified method of categorising the significant number of job opportunities that are available on the internet. For a newcomer to the internet it can be a confusing process of finding a relevant job site. A Initial Classification We have chosen an initial categorisation of all sites into the following four main categories. 1. Job Board. 2. Recruitment Agency. 3. Company. 4. Graduate Career. 1. Job Board Our description of a job board is an internet site set up with a sole purpose of advertising jobs. Many dedicated job board sites have been set up over the last ten years. Our distinction of a job board is one which derives its primary revenue from advertising jobs, as opposed to one which derives fees from placing candidates. Some of the Job Boards can be considered as "generalist" (covering a wide range of industry / regional sectors) and some Job Boards are niche (dedicated to one industry / regional sector) Job Boards tend to differ from recruitment agents sites because they typically advertise vacancies from multiple recruitment agencies and also display adverts directly from companies. 2. Recruitment Agents Recruitment agent sites are useful sources of vacancies specific to the particular industry categories the recruitment agent covers. Many recruitment agents also advertise on Job Boards. 3. Companies A rising trend of recent years is for companies to have specific job sections available on their main company sites. The Job sections linked to on addjobs are the URL of the specific job site of the company. 4. Graduate Careers Similar to 3 above, many companies (particularly large companies) have specific sections on their sites dedicated to the recruitment of Graduates. B Industry Classification Each of the four main classifications described in A above, are then subcategorised in the industry classifcation that you will see on the home page. The same consistent classifications are shown in each case. C Regional Classification Each of the sites on this site are categorised by region |
